On August 4, we celebrate the feast of Saint John Vianney, patron of parish priests. His passionate devotion to our Lord drew people closer to their Heavenly Father, reminding us that our priests are central to God’s plan for his people and helping us appreciate the importance of priestly vocations. Together throughout the Diocese of Gaylord, we celebrate this beautiful gift of the diocesan priesthood by taking up a special collection each August to support our seminarians with education expenses as they prepare for the priesthood.

You will be receiving a letter from our shepherd, Bishop Jeffrey Walsh, this week in the mail inviting you to support our seminarians through prayer and through a financial gift to the 2022 Seminarian Education Fund. Please watch for this special message from Bishop Walsh and pray about how you might continue supporting seminarians and all those considering a priestly vocation or religious life!
